BizWorld Kids during entrepreneur week
|
This spring the BizWorld Foundation celebrated the First Annual Entrepreneurship Week helping to raise awareness nationwide. In addition to performing classroom trainings around the country, the Foundation teamed up with like-minded organizations to produce Teaching Entrepreneurship: The Trailblazers, an event to bring together members of the San Francisco Bay Area and showcase the importance of teaching business to youth. Featured panelists Tom Krimmel, Chief Development Officer, National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship; Richard Caruso, Founder, Uncommon Individual and current E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year; and Tim Draper, BizWorld Founder and Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and a team of BizKids shared their thoughts fostering the entrepreneur in all of us.
“This microphone, this table, this water bottle; it’s all business. By providing students with basic business knowledge and a platform to take a leap, society inevitably benefits. You can all make an impact and make big things happen,” said Tim Draper.

Making strides in Utah: The BizWorld Foundation receives American Express Grant |
The BizWorld Foundation is thrilled to announce a $25,000 grant awarded by the American Express Foundation. The grant will be used to expose Utah students living in low socio-economic environments, specifically those who live on Native American reservations, to entrepreneurship and business concepts. American Express is delighted that the funds will reach thousands of students in at least 150 classrooms and provide them with the necessary tools to uncover their individual potential, while enabling them to connect their classroom learning with the real world. The BizWorld program fosters teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking skills through a hands-on interdisciplinary curriculum in a stimulating environment, allowing students to realize their full capabilities and pursue their dreams.
