| North Carolina State Treasurer Promotes BizWorld | ||||||
 North
Carolina State Treasurer Richard Moore will sponsor the first ever
BizWorld contest this spring, in an effort to increase the statewide
support of financial literacy for youth. Fifteen lucky fifth grade
classes will be chosen to participate in the contest. Students in
the winning group will receive US savings bonds as encouragement to
continue smart personal finance habits.

| BizWorld Takes Off in Utah - Launches Pilot Program! | ||||||
 The
BizWorld Utah pilot program is off and running, with training workshops
for teachers and the initial meeting of the Utah Advisory Board. Currently
eight members of the Board have been confirmed; this diverse group
comes from educational, corporate, marketing, entrepreneurial and
non-profit arenas. Representation ranges from members of the State
Board of Education to executives in the financial industry and higher-technology
fields, to executive leaders of non-profits and small business owners.
BizWorld Appoints New Program Manager for Utah Julie Coleman brings extensive experience in education, teaching, curriculum design, consulting and project management to the Regional Program Manager position. Julie is excited to join the BizWorld team and looks forward to helping build a sound and sustainable implementation model in Utah and beyond. This
past October volunteers from Wadsworth, the preeminent higher education
publisher of social and behavioral sciences, helped BizWorld prepare
for the upcoming school year by participating in a community service
project in honor of the Week of Caring. The volunteers helped assemble
and pack over 1000 BizWorld kits. This hard work will benefit over
27,000 kids in the coming year!
Join
the BizWorld team in supporting its partner organization, the California
Jump$tart Coalition, at the Federal Reserve Bank of San
Francisco. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to network with
others interested in improving financial literacy. Be one of the
first to experience the Federal Reserve’s newly-remodeled
exhibits and lobby (tours will be given after lunch), and hear keynote
speaker Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz. |
