BizWorld Foundation Donates BizWorld Kits to Hurricane Katrina Victims

The BizWorld Foundation donated 100 BizWorld kits to Louisiana teachers in need. The donation will support the many educators who have been struggling to find resources after loosing years of teaching material in the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The BizWorld Foundation, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship and business skills to children, will host a luncheon on December 14th at the new St Regis Hotel. The event will feature Marc Benioff, CEO, Salesforce.com, Tim Draper, Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson; and BizWorld students.

In celebration of the BizWorld Foundation's expansion to New York City elementary schools, fourth-grader DaShae Whitney will ring the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange on December 1, 2005.

San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, and leading Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist, Tim Draper, will team up to teach students at the Gloria R. Davis Middle School in Hunter’s Point the importance of business and smart money management. The event, which will begin at 10:30 am, will showcase the BizWorld program, the namesake program of the San Francisco based BizWorld Foundation, which teaches entrepreneurship and business skills to students in third through eighth grades.

Salesforce.com/foundation provided a $25,000 grant to the BizWorld Foundation, which provides schools with learning programs that teach students the basics of business, entrepreneurship and money management, to develop the initial curriculum and pilot the program for BizAcademy.
