MICHELA ALIOTO-PIER JOINS THE BIZWORLD FOUNDATION’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The BizWorld Foundation today announced that Michela Alioto-Pier, District 2 Supervisor, was elected to The BizWorld Foundation’s Board of Directors at their meeting yesterday. The BizWorld Foundation is a national not-for-profit that develops curriculum that teaches elementary school children the basics of business, entrepreneurship and money management in the classroom.
“Michela will be a terrific addition to the leadership of The BizWorld Foundation,” said Tim Draper, Founder and Chairman of The BizWorld Foundation. “Her experience with the education system and business will be great assets to our mission.
Ms. Alioto Pier has been named one of the top 21 up-and-coming women leaders in the country by Ms. Magazine, she is a Henry Crowne Fellow with the Aspen Institute, and she was a delegate to the Lifetime Summit on Women in 1997. She has been profiled in nationwide magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Time, and People. She was named one of "the ten people expected to have the greatest impact on the Bay Area in the early part of the 21st century" by the San Francisco Examiner.
“The BizWorld Foundation will allow me to inspire the youth of San Francisco by promoting and developing innovative curriculum and inspiring young entrepreneurs,” remarked Supervisor Alioto Pier.
