Press Release
The BizWorld Foundation is delighted to announce a $25,000 grant awarded by the American Express Foundation in December. The grant will enable the BizWorld Foundation to introduce entrepreneurship and business to low- and moderate-income students statewide, with a strong focus on serving students living on Native American reservations. American Express is pleased that the funds will be used to provide thousands of Utah students in at least 150 classrooms with the tools needed to empower them as they become invested at school and begin to understand how their education applies to the real world. The BizWorld program builds teamwork and leadership skills while teaching critical thinking skills through an interdisciplinary curriculum, opening students’ minds to new possibilities for their future.
The BizWorld Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, develops business and entrepreneurship programs for teachers to implement in real world classroom settings. The Foundation’s programs include BizWorld, which gives students the experience of running a business and BizWiz, which teaches the basics of saving and investing. The programs have been taught to more than 150,000 children in all 50 states and 84 countries. |
